We first want to understand the current brand identity system and how the stakeholders currently interact with it. This comes in the form of visits and meetings with residents, elected officials, business owners, and visitors. It is vital to recognize which elements of the identity currently work and what needs to be changed.

Once we have a collection of information about the locale, we will begin accumulating both visual and non-visual elements that will help us to begin crafting the first instances of a brand identity. These elements will come in the form of current and legacy imagery, historic buildings, past logos and seals, resident, visitor, and business owner testimonials, local fauna and flora, local maps, and many more.

MandelaMade provides a slate of design concepts (rough sketches / studies / drafts) that are later whittled down to the mark that accomplishes the goals identified earlier in the Mapping Phase. Simulations of real-world applications (mockups) are provided to give context to proposed design concepts.

Once a design is selected and approved by the Client, MandelaMade provides a full buildout of assets suitable to the agreed upon requirements. This can consist of logo lockups and variations, color palettes, typography pairings, patterns, clear-space requirements, and usage specifications. Additional visual assets including photography and videography are available to further imprint the new identity to the desired audiences.
